Easter 2010

Easter was very low key for us this year. My Mom, Ashley and David came over and we went out to eat, colored eggs, and hunted them. That was it! It was so nice to not have a crazy rushed lets get all of this done kind of day.

Noah and Asher's Easter baskets. I love getting little things like this for them.

Noah was so excited to get a Phineas and Ferb CD. The Easter Bunny didn't come in the morning time because the Easter bunny didn't know Noah was going to wake up so early.

Asher enjoyed chewing on his Easter basket. Everything you put in front of him goes to his mouth.

I finally convinced Brian it was time to color Easter eggs. If you know Brian, you know he can hardly stand this sort of thing due to the potential amount of mess. I was good and covered the table but he wanted to cover the floor or go outside. Noah did a good job and got design help from his oh so talented Aunt Ashley. She is showing him how to do the double dip egg.

All of the eggs just waiting to be colored. I think Noah liked this but like all things artsy it only lasted a few minutes then he was done. Ashley spent more time on her one egg than Noah did on all of his. I even got a "Cars" coloring kit hoping he would spend more time with it but no such luck.

Noah's lovely eggs. Notice the nasty brown one in the carton. He want to put an egg in each of the colors for a while and see what happens. Brown and not cute chocolate brown but gross brown. Boys!!!!

This is the typical face he likes to give these days when taking pictures.
He does love pink. Noah and I with our "girl" eggs.

We sat Asher up so he could watch. Happy first Easter kiddo. Noah wanted him to have a pink egg. Notice thumb in mouth, everything to his mouth.

Look how intently he is looking at this egg. I know he is thinking 'how can I get this to my mouth.'

Noah on his second egg hunt this Easter but this time it was all his. He still loved it and ran just as hard and fast as he did when there were a whole bunch of kids around.
Brian and Asher hanging out (in their Easter outfits) watching Noah hunt eggs.

Noah's Egg Hunt at School

For some reason (could be that we have a new baby) Easter snuck up on us this year. We normally go to one of the city's Easter events but we missed them. So, thankfully Noah's school did an egg hunt and we didn't have to go to one. This year was the best one yet, he actually understood was the egg hunting was all about. It was so much fun to see him run to get eggs. I even had to tell him to let the girls get some of the eggs.

Noah's Penguin class lined up and ready to hunt.

Ayden, Noah, Mason and Ryan still waiting.

Look at that face! He is so excited to go get the eggs.

He so did not want to stop to let mommy get a picture.

Braden and Noah have become great friends this year.

Asher 5 months

Look at my precious little man who is growing so much. This month has had a lot of changes for Asher. He is sitting up so much better but not on his own just yet.

He is such a happy baby and loves to be with all of us. This month we started on solid food. We started first with Rice cereal but when he didn't go to the bathroom for 10 days we switched to Oatmeal. The oatmeal was a big hit and helped in the bathroom department. After doing oatmeal for a while we moved to peas.

He does a great job eating but it does get a little messy.

He loves to eat. He gets so excited and just kicks his legs.

Asher's favorite toy. Mouth open b/c he is constantly chewing on things.

This is how I found Asher one day after Noah said 'Mommy, I played with Asher.' We had a little talk about not covering up Asher's face =).

Like I said before baby brother is growing and growing. He is already up to 17 lbs. and 1.9oz. I just love going and taking these pictures each month and seeing how much he is growing.

My Big Boy Noah

No more little bed, no more diapers, and now no more passy. Noah is officially a big boy. I am just as happy as I am sad to say Noah is done with baby stuff (except sippy cups but that is b/c Brian is very worried about stains). The last big thing to give up was his pooh passy (sounds gross but it had a pic of Winnie the pooh on the outside hence pooh passy) and he finally did it. I am so proud of him because I know it was and still is hard on him. Just this morning he asked for his pooh passy =(. I know he is kind of old to just now be getting rid of it but he didn't really get attach to it until he was 2. As an infant he wouldn't take a passy but as he got older he figured out how to use it and was hooked. He mostly used it when he was tired but he would find other times to sneak it.

So, how did we convince him to give it up? Well first Brian tried the passy fairy but that would just make him very upset. Then after spending the day with Gabe and riding Gabe's bike Noah asked us for a bike. His birthday is not for awhile and we knew we would be hearing about this bike a lot. So, Brian and I had a brilliant idea! Give up pooh passy and you get a bike and Noah agreed (although I am sure he didn't really know what he was doing). When we were in Jackson I kept talking to Noah about giving up the passy and he would say "I want both. That works for me." I would gently remind him if he didn't give the passy up no bike. We got home on Thursday night and told Noah we would get the bike on Friday. So, Friday morning he was ready. We put the passy in his trash can (I think this was his ploy b/c there is nothing in his trash can) so he and daddy could go get a bike that night. Well at nap time Noah asked for his pooh passy just till Daddy got home. So sweet and cute I couldn't resist and gave it back to him. Then he finally did it! When daddy got home the passy went into the big trash can and they headed to walmart.

Noah on his first big boy bike. He loves it and has been riding it everyday since. Yes, everyday even the day it snowed. He still got on it and rode it around the block. He is actually very good at riding it which I had no idea he could do.

Noah loves this bike not just because it is a bike but because it is a motorcycle bike. Thank you uncle Chris. In the video Noah shows you how you can turn one of the handle bars and it revs just like a motorcycle.

Spring Break with the Grandparents

This year for Spring Break we headed out to Jackson MS to spend some time with the Grandparents. Noah had a great time biking with Grandpa, visiting the park, and the fire station. I had a great time doing nothing. Actually, I did get a number of blogs written so I can put them in my blog book but I will not be posting them (since some are over a year old). The first morning we were there Noah woke up about 8:15am yelling "I go biking." One of the things they do while biking is to go by the fire station. While they were there the firemen let Noah get on the truck and wear a helmet. Good times had by all.

Asher waiting to go on his first plane ride. He did great and did not cry at all. He just had a bottle and went on to sleep. Perfect!

Going biking with Grandpa wasn't the only thing Noah couldn't wait for. He couldn't wait to see Jamie. He was more than excited to finally get to hang out with her.

Noah was also very excited to see his uncle Chris and the motorcycle. One day while Noah was waiting on Grandpa to get ready he went out to the garage to wait. Grandma went to the garage to check on Noah and he was sitting on uncle Chris's motorcycle. Yep! Climbed up there all by himself, he is so ready to be big. Anyways, I love this picture of the two of them in Chris's helmets.

Another thing we did while we were there was to visit the children's museum.

Sweet baby Asher hanging with uncle Chris and Jamie.
I think this is the best picture ever. Look at Asher just smiling at uncle Chris. Chris had him just laughing and laughing.
The funniest part happened right after this picture. Asher all of the sudden had a very serious look on his face and we realized he had a dirty diaper. So, I laid him on the floor to change him with Chris and Jamie sitting on the couch. As I was changing him he went some more and both Chris and Jamie had to leave the room. I even heard Chris gagging! Then, Jamie got brave and came back in and Asher went some more. Jamie left the room saying "Oh no, he is going again." I was laughing so hard at how grossed out they were (and that Asher just kept on going right in front of them) that I had tears rolling down my face.

Daddy You Rock

Last weekend Brian participated in the Dallas Rock-n-Roll 1/2 Marathon. We are so proud of him to run 13.2 miles in only 1 hour and 52 minutes and 23 seconds. Wow! Brian always works so hard to get ready for the race and we are glad to go and support him.

Daddy running with Dr. Ryan. I was glad he had a friend to run with and they actually ran together. Brian said it helped having someone to talk with every once and a while.

Noah checking out Daddy's and Dr. Ryan's medals.

The family out to support Daddy.

We finally got to meet Jill, Dr. Ryan's girlfriend, and Noah's new found love. She was such a big help to me with the kiddos. There were a lot of people there and I don't think I could of done it by myself.

The day before Brian took the boys with him while he picked up his race packet. They came home with the cutest shirts. Asher got this one that said 'My Daddy Rocks' and Noah's said 'Rock'. Too cute!

The official runners post race. Dr. Ryan, Amanda, and Brian they were sore, tired, but glad they did it.
